Tesla Powerwall service can't be scheduled or stalls for months

Tesla service for a Powerwall can't be booked, or work orders and replacement parts take months. This page covers what to check first and what is behind the delays.

What to check first

  1. Before Permission to Operate, phoning Tesla support is the only way to get service. Keep phoning until a visit is scheduled, and ask to escalate past the local crew.
  2. When you escalate, ask for someone above the local crew, such as a regional quality coordinator. One fixed an owner's issue in under an hour and filed the paperwork that led to Permission to Operate the next month.
  3. Ask whether your installer has its own service crew. Such an installer can provide service while Tesla's replacement and callback queues run, and catch updates and adjustments missed after commissioning.
