Powerwall energy meter (Neurio) offline or won't pair

The app shows the energy meter offline or unreachable, the meter keeps reconnecting or won't pair, and solar or home readings go missing. This page covers what the app messages mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.

Error codes that go with this problem

CodeWhat it means
Meter OfflinePart of the power flow is missing from the app, and the battery can sit at 0% for days, or under 10%, without charging.

What to check first

  1. Check whether the panels are actually producing, for example on a separate production meter. If they are while the app shows zero, the fault is in the monitoring, not the solar.
  2. Note whether the trouble started after your internet router or provider changed.
  3. Switch the Neurio meter's dedicated 15 A breaker off and back on. This brought back a Neurio that had crashed.
  4. If a wireless Neurio won't pair: join its PWRview Wi-Fi access point, open its setup page, point it at the gateway's Wi-Fi network, power-cycle it, then run pairing in the Tesla app again.
  5. If it stays offline, call Tesla support, which can check the meter remotely, or your installer. Expect a wait: Tesla offered a technician visit about a month out.
