Tesla Powerwall › Problems
Powerwall app daily totals or history doubled, zero, or missing
The Tesla app shows daily totals or history that are doubled, zero, missing or stale, or the Powerwall has disappeared from the app. This page covers what the lights and messages mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.
What the lights mean
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Powerwall 2 light solid | The Powerwall is enabled and communicating with the gateway. |
| Powerwall 2 light pulsing | The Powerwall is enabled and charging or discharging. |
| Powerwall 3 logo solid white | Normal operation. |
Error codes that go with this problem
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| Gateway Offline | The power flow screen is grayed out or blank, the gateway may beep, and energy data is unavailable. |
What to check first
- Open the local gateway page, or ask your installer to check Tesla One. If the system shows working there while the Tesla app doesn't, the problem is the app's data, not the equipment.
- Check that the app is logged into the Tesla account with the exact email address the system was bought under.
- If the Powerwall is missing from the app, log out of the app and back in. Changing the app password before logging back in also worked.
- After a new gateway circuit board, if the app shows the old and new installations side by side, tap the profile photo and pick the new one.
- If the readings stay stuck after a short grid outage, do a full power-down and restart of the whole system, following Tesla support's instructions.
- Doubled or zero totals have been corrected by Tesla remotely or by a firmware update, with nothing for the owner to do. If it doesn't clear, contact Tesla support.
