SolarEdge system won't restart after a power outage
After a power outage, your SolarEdge inverter doesn't start producing again, even though the grid is back. This page covers what the lights mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.
What the lights mean
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Flashing green and flashing blue | AC is connected but the inverter is not producing, and its connection to monitoring comes and goes. Seen after a power surge, an outage or an interrupted firmware update. |
| Solid green and solid blue | Producing normally and connected to monitoring. After a full restart this can take up to five minutes. |
What to check first
- Note whether the battery is still powering the house while the solar has not come back.
- Turn the inverter off and flip the PV disconnect. If that alone doesn't bring production back, switch the inverter's own breaker off and on.
- If it still isn't producing, do a full reset: inverter switch off, DC disconnect off, PV breakers in the main panel off. Wait a couple of minutes, then switch them back on in reverse order.
- After switching back on, allow up to five minutes. You may hear relays click. The lights should end solid green and solid blue.
- If it still isn't producing, production has also come back on its own the next day, after the inverter's nightly sleep and reboot.
