SolarEdge monitoring shows inverter offline or missing while it still produces

The SolarEdge app or monitoring portal shows the inverter offline, missing or not updating, while the inverter keeps producing power. This page covers what the lights and codes mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.

What the lights mean

What you seeWhat it means
Solid green light on the inverter, but no data in the appThe inverter is still producing. Only its link to monitoring is down.
Green light on, no blue light underneathOn inverters without a screen: the inverter has power but is not connected to SolarEdge's monitoring servers.
Blue light onThe inverter is connected to SolarEdge's monitoring servers.
Solid green and solid blueProducing normally and connected to monitoring. This can take up to five minutes after power is restored.
Solid red and blue lights on the communications module, no relay activityThe communications module is not working. The inverter can keep producing but reports no data.

Error codes that go with this problem

CodeWhat it means
10000000 DHCP Failed (inverter screen)The inverter could not get a network address, so monitoring stopped updating while it kept producing. With a fixed IP address set, it may show Gateway Ping Failed or TCP Connect Failed instead.
No site communication (app)The inverter is not reporting to the monitoring platform. If its light is solid green, it is still producing.
Sok and SIG (inverter screen, cellular)Sok confirms the cellular modem is connected to the monitoring portal. SIG shows cellular signal strength from 0, none, to 5, excellent.

What to check first

  1. Look at the inverter's light. If it is solid green but the app shows no data, the inverter is still producing and only its link to monitoring is down.
  2. In the mySolarEdge app, a red or yellow inverter icon with production still showing means the inverter has no internet but is still producing.
  3. If you changed your Wi-Fi network or password, open the inverter communication screen in the mySolarEdge app, tap Configure, choose the network and enter the new password.
  4. If a Wi-Fi range extender sits between your router and the inverter, factory-reset the extender and see whether the monitoring portal starts updating again.
  5. Look for a white antenna on the top or side of the inverter. If there is one, it reports over a cellular link rather than your Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Tell your installer, along with the install date.
  6. Call your installer if it still doesn't report. While the link is down nothing alerts you to an outage; an inverter that failed with no error on its display went unnoticed until a high electric bill.
