SolarEdge meter CTs read zero or the wrong direction
Your SolarEdge meter's current sensors read nothing or read import and export the wrong way, so the system's numbers are wrong and a battery may charge from the grid. This page covers what to check first and the causes behind it.
What to check first
- Turn off the inverter's toggle switch so production stops. The SolarEdge meter should then read import only, in line with your utility meter. Turn it back on: import should drop by what the inverter produces, or export should appear.
- Note whether a battery on manual charge settings charges itself from the grid and stays at 100% instead of waiting for the cheap-rate time.
- Call your installer if the readings don't change as expected. The sensors sit on the service-entrance conductors and are set up by the installer.
