SolarEdge battery loses charge overnight while idle

Your SolarEdge battery loses far more charge overnight while sitting idle than its standby draw explains, such as dropping from 50% to 40%. This page covers what to check first and the cause behind it.

What to check first

  1. Note the battery's percentage when it goes idle in the evening and again in the morning, and the hours in between.
  2. Look at the night-time draw in the app. A constant 20 watts would only account for about a 2% loss overnight.
  3. Overnight losses of about 1 to 3% are reported as normal. If yours is far higher, ask your installer to take it to SolarEdge technical support.
