SolarEdge backup power doesn't come on or cuts out during an outage
During a power outage or an outage test, your SolarEdge backup doesn't come on, or it cuts out partway. This page covers what the lights and codes mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.
What the lights mean
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Blue communication light on the meter is out | The communication link to the meter is lost. |
Error codes that go with this problem
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| Err 360 (SetApp status) | Meter communication error. |
What to check first
- Note what happened: backup never came on and the house went dark, backup stopped while a large load was running, or it stopped when one battery ran out while another was still full.
- If backup stopped while a large load such as a jacuzzi was running, switch that load off at the electrical panel, then turn the inverter off for 10 seconds and back on.
- Look at the meter's blue communication light and note whether it is out.
- Ask your installer whether an outage test was done when the system was installed.
- Call your installer if backup didn't come on or keeps cutting out. In a working system, backup takes over within 10 seconds of the grid going off.
Safety. Work inside the Backup Interface is done only after switching off the battery, the inverter and the interface.
