SolarEdge inverter shows 3x6E or 3x6B communication error
Your SolarEdge inverter shows error 3x6B or 3x6E, a communication error with the battery or a meter. The battery may sit idle or production may stop. This page covers what the lights and codes mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.
What the lights mean

Error codes that go with this problem

| 3x6E | A communication error with a meter the inverter is set up to use, such as the production meter. |
| 18x6F, seen together with 3x6E | Grid voltage is above the country limit. |
| Battery communication error on the screen while a StorEdge battery is being paired | Expected during pairing, because the battery is off before pairing begins. It clears once pairing completes. |
What to check first
- Look at the app. Note whether it shows Battery Not Communicating, whether the battery sits at a fixed charge that stops updating, or whether it shows charging at only 1 to 3 W while solar goes to the grid.
- Write down the code from the inverter screen or error log, such as 3x6B or 3x6E, and whether production shows zero.
- Restart the whole system, not only the battery: inverter DC switch off, wait 10 minutes, AC off, battery off. Then turn the inverter back on before the battery.
- Call your installer if the code comes back, the battery stays stuck, or production stays at zero after the restart.
