Enphase Installer App shows a phase validation or phase rotation error
The Enphase Installer App shows a phase validation error or a phase rotation error and won't finish commissioning. This page covers what the errors mean, what to check first, and the causes behind them.
Error codes that go with this problem
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| Phase validation error (IQ Battery 10C) | The installer app has found a phase wiring problem between the two sub-units of an IQ Battery 10C. Commissioning is blocked until it is corrected. |
| Phase rotation error | On a three-phase site the system checks phase order to protect three-phase equipment. This error stops commissioning and can keep a System Controller's relays open. |
What to check first
- If your new system isn't running yet and your installer reports a phase error, commissioning can't finish until it is corrected. A phase rotation error can also keep a System Controller's relays open, so the system won't operate.
- On a three-phase site, the wrong phase order can come from the street supply itself, even when every phase colour looks right. Ask your installer whether the supply was tested.
- Call your installer to correct a phase error. It is wiring work on the battery or the installation.
