Enphase IQ EV Charger pulls from battery or grid instead of excess solar
The Enphase IQ EV Charger charges from the house battery or the grid even though it is set to use only excess solar, or it reports no power while surplus solar is showing. This page covers what the lights and codes mean, what to check first, and the cause behind it.
What the lights mean
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| IQ Battery LED slowly flashing blue | The battery is discharging. |
Error codes that go with this problem
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| Charging error-no power | The IQ EV Charger reports that no power is available, even with surplus solar showing. |
What to check first
- In the charger's settings, look for an add-on schedule. If one is turned on, it can force charging from the grid or the battery alongside the solar-only setting. With it turned off, the charger throttled to excess solar.
- Note whether the charger comes on at its scheduled time no matter what the solar or the battery is doing.
- Turning off Use battery for EV charging may not be enough on its own. With it off, the charger has still drawn from both the battery and the grid.
- If the car shows Charging error-no power while Live Status shows 3 kW or more of excess solar, contact Enphase support.
- If Enphase merged two sites for your property and the charger now can't be reconfigured, ask Enphase support which site the charger is on.
