Enphase app shows no new data or the Gateway not reporting

The Enphase app shows no new data, missing data, or the gateway not reporting. This page covers what the gateway lights and the app messages mean, what to check first, and the causes behind it.

What the lights mean

What you seeWhat it means
All four gateway lights flashing red for about a minute after power-upThe gateway is booting up. This is normal.
Gateway lights cascading from one side to the other, or flashing green in sequenceA software update is in progress. The update and the reboots after it take about 20 to 30 minutes.
Gateway lights solid red, not flashingDon't switch the gateway off and on or reboot it. Contact Enphase support directly.
Gateway lights flash red, go solid briefly, then flash red again, over and overThe gateway keeps rebooting. This pattern points to a wiring problem with the gateway's power supply.
Gateway network communications light solid redThe gateway is connected to the local network only and is not reaching Enphase.
Gateway network communications light offThe gateway has no network connection.
Far-left light in the combiner box not green, two middle lights greenThe system is most likely not connected to Wi-Fi. The two middle lights green mean the microinverters are producing and reporting.
No gateway lights at allCheck that power reaches the gateway first. With no power at the source the lights stay dark even when the gateway is fine.

What to check first

  1. Check whether other devices in your home can reach the internet on the same Wi-Fi. If they can't, call your internet provider. If the gateway uses a Wi-Fi extender, check the extender is on and has good signal.
  2. Look at the gateway lights inside the combiner box. If the far-left light is not green, the system is most likely not connected to Wi-Fi.
  3. If no gateway light is on at all, check that the gateway's breaker is switched on, or for a plug-in unit that the outlet is live.
  4. If the app stopped updating right after a daylight saving time change but Live Status still shows production, wait a day. This has cleared on its own within hours to about a day.
  5. To reconnect it to Wi-Fi, tap the gateway's AP button until its light is solid green, join your phone to the Envoy_ network with mobile data off, then pick your home network in the app and enter its password.
  6. If the gateway lights are solid red and not flashing, don't switch it off and on; contact Enphase support. If your phone never shows the Envoy_ network after you tap the AP button, call your installer.
