Battery comm never establishes, F58 or exclamation icon

Symptoms
- With BMS Lithium Batt enabled the inverter shows F58 or an exclamation point under the battery symbol, the Li-Batt Info screen never populates (or one stack of several reports a wrong capacity), and no alarm may be raised at all when the cable is on the wrong port
- On a new 15K with two EG4 wall-mount batteries the app showed the battery type as lead acid, which is what the inverter shows whenever no battery communication is established
- The Briggs & Stratton trainers call home-made cables the most common closed-loop problem they see
