SolarEdge › inverter display and communication board
Inverter's cellular monitoring link goes silent
reported more than once
Symptoms
- An inverter's cellular connection to SolarEdge monitoring silently goes dead, either because a roughly five-year data plan has run out or the signal is weak, or because the older 3G network it depends on shut down
- Production can continue normally while monitoring and outage alerts go dark, or, in one case, the same period coincided with a genuine mechanical inverter failure that then went undiscovered for months because there was no way to get an alert. On an inverter under a year old the cellular link instead dropped every day around noon for three weeks, with the missing data appearing overnight, so production was never lost, only live reporting (case moved here 2026-09-11 from se-inverter-monitoring-offline-owner-network)
