Tesla Powerwall › gateway internal wiring and breakers
Circuit trips right after Tesla panel upgrade
reported more than once
Symptoms
- A circuit that never tripped before the Tesla solar/Powerwall panel upgrade starts nuisance-tripping (a shared AC/microwave circuit, or kitchen/garage GFCI circuits)
- Inspection finds 12-gauge wire landed on a 15A breaker instead of 20A, or 20A receptacles fed by downsized 14-gauge wire behind 15A breakers
- On a separate Powerwall, one branch breaker trips or is found already tripped without the owner's knowledge, silently halving charge and discharge capacity
- A Tesla-installed 200A Eaton backup disconnect has its lower fuse base in the wrong position so the fuse never fully seats
