Gateway shows Server not connected, strong signal nearby

Symptoms
- App nags to reconnect the gateway to WiFi and finds no networks even with strong signal nearby
- The gateway's own TEG/TEDI setup SSID stops broadcasting after a reset-button press
- App shows 'Server not connected'
- Sometimes follows a brief grid or internet outage and a standard reset does not clear it
- Or the WiFi connection drops several times a day for up to 30 minutes at a time, roams poorly between access points, and the gateway falls back to its weak cellular link, or after a firmware update abandons stable Ethernet for cellular
