Enphase › power-line communication (PLC)
Array stops reporting for hours while still producing
reported more than once
Symptoms
- An entire array periodically and simultaneously stops reporting to the Gateway for hours to days while Live Status shows the microinverters are still producing
- Recurs several times a month over the better part of a year
- In one case a new device scan found all 19 units again each day until sunset, after which they did not come back the next morning
- The Installer Portal's 7-day power playback shows gaps, sporadic reporting or plateaus, and its dashboard shows power-line signal strength below three to five bars
- Sometimes traced to a PLC profile mismatch after migrating monitoring from a different manufacturer's system, or to noise from another powerline device (a dishwasher, the owner's own powerline network adapters, or a third-party string inverter's AC supply run through the solar sub-board). A battery or System Controller that drops off the Gateway over the wireless Comms Kit is a different mechanism, covered by the Zigbee dropout mode
