Ethernet dongle stays offline after Wi-Fi drops

Symptoms
- A Wi-Fi + Ethernet dongle (V1.1) bought to escape Wi-Fi range problems keeps dropping monitoring whenever the Wi-Fi link drops even though an Ethernet cable is connected
- With Wi-Fi blocked (foil over the dongle, or the router's radios off) the app shows the device offline and the dongle's connection status as Lost, the network switch shows no link activity, and plugging the cable in does nothing until the dongle is reset
- The IP LED stays solid instead of blinking at the rates the quick start guide gives, so there is no way to tell which path is in use
- While on the Ethernet path the app's Dongle Connect and Local Connect are unreachable because the dongle's Wi-Fi radio is off
