EG4 › MPPT / charge controller
MPPT inputs stay stuck near zero after clouds
reported in the field
Symptoms
- Accidentally shorting battery inputs while installing new batteries leaves a 6500EX-48 reading a dead short across its battery input terminals
- Both MPPT inputs on a 6000XP drop to near 0-100W after clouds and stay stuck there (recoverable only by cycling PV off/on), with a spurious 13-30V 'ghost' voltage on PV1 at night, following an E017 internal-communication fault
- And an untaped PV wire from a not-yet-connected MPPT arcs to a grounded metal roof during a 3-phase 12000XP install, after which that inverter logs an overcurrent error and stays stuck in standby even once the wiring fault itself is corrected
