EG4 › battery-to-inverter and battery-to-battery comm cable
Nearer battery cycles faster than the farther one
reported more than once
Symptoms
- Two WallMount batteries wired per EG4's standard daisy-chain diagram (both fed through the first battery to the inverter) show the nearer battery cycling about 5% faster than the farther one after two weeks
- A sixth battery added to a mixed two-inverter rack will not charge to the same voltage as the others despite SOC recalibration
- A FlexBOSS21 with two PowerPro batteries suddenly loses all power about two hours into an otherwise normal outage with both reading 0% SOC despite the data log showing far less than the full bank capacity used, traced partly to loose battery-cable lugs
- And in EG4's rack cabinets the rivnuts or bus-bar threads strip out when the M6 and M8 battery-to-bus-bar bolts are run down with an impact driver or by feel, leaving a connection that cannot be tightened to spec (folded in from a Signature Solar video on 2026-09-11)
