Symptoms

BMS Test returns 'get boot info failed' or 'upgrade fail' on most batteries in a chain
The update dongle does nothing when the manual's order is followed
One battery in a stack errors out
The Battery Firmware Adapter faults repeatedly over RS485 and says Success over BatCom while the version string never changes
After an adapter push the LCD goes dead though the battery still charges
The Mac owner cannot run the tool at all
